  Oct.29th 2011 from 10-3-

Come visit the farms that give you produce for the local markets!!

Eastern Williamson County has many farms you can visit anytime to buy products and twice a year the farms get together to host a farm tour.

5-10 farms provide an open house environment with events, handouts, speakers, product demo's and much more. A great way to spend the day in the country.

We have bees, dairy, produce, organics, greenhouses, aquaculture, nuts and much more! Many farms to visit in a very small area!

Our tours let you drive from one farm to the next spending as little or as much time as you like at each stop.

We encourage everyone to end their day at Monument Cafe in Georgetown as they are huge supporters of local farms and prepare their menu with our products!!!

If you are a farm small or large and would like to be part of the tour contact: gate2plate@aol.com or

512-818-5278 we are also looking for sponsors and donations for prizes and handouts.

Want to add your farm to the tour?

If you are a farmer that has a product for sale or an organic system to share let us know! We will add you to the network and you can join the farm tours! Any size or type of  farm or gardens are welcome.

We only ask that you help promote the event with links to the tour info, flyers in your window and word of mouth! If there is an organization or business you know of that would like to sponsor us let us know! You will also need signs to be posted at intersections along the directions to your farm from the nearest main road..

We sell tickets at our sponsors locations, on-line at BrownPaper Tickets, and at the local farmers markets. We split the moneys equal between all farms with a portion going to non profit local groups.

We have articles in all the local papers, blogs, and are featured in company newsletters. Each farm has a presence on the web site.

We combine efforts with local organizations such as Community Gardens in Georgetown, Williamson County BeeKeepers Assoc., Jonah Community Center etc....

We encourage that farms provide an activity and handout the day of the tour so that every visitor gets a gift!
